This is a bit of a funny question. Kitty and I met in middle school technically, but we didn't really meet until we had classes together in high school. We shared a literature class (shout out to Mr. Needham) in 10th grade, where we were more "formally" introduced to each other. -Owen
We became engaged on September 27th, 2023, at our home in Buckhead. I had been planning a proposal for a bit, we had picked out rings, and I picked the 27th for the proposal so that it would be a fun date for us, as both of us were born on 27ths (February and March of '97). More importantly, it would be a surprise. September 27th, 2023 was a random Wednesday that otherwise had little meaning to us, so it was the perfect day to surprise Kitty. I came home early from work and had previously scheduled a bouquet of flowers to be delivered. I spent time decorating for fall, as Kitty loves to adjust our home to fit the season, and got everything ready for when she would arrive. And then she did. Hours earlier than I expected. She was thankful, though confused, as to why I was home and had decorated. I gave a vague reason to try not to give away what was coming, and began sweating bullets. The flowers were running late, and I had to figure out how to get them in the house without her noticing. Then I got a call from the delivery driver, he was stuck outside our gate. I quickly told Kitty I was picking up a surprise for her and rushed out the door. I picked up the bouquet, and headed home. Once I pulled in, I called Kitty and asked her to head upstairs while I set up her surprise. I lugged the bouquet in, set everything up for the proposal, and called her down. I read her a poem I'd written for this moment, and dropped down to one knee. And she said yes! P.S. Poem coming soon!
