The bridal party are wearing dusty blue & twilight blue dresses. The groom party are wearing gray suits with dusty blue ties. Color scheme: blues/ whites/ sage green/ pops of peach Ideas for what to wear: -it is not a black tie wedding so no need to rent a tux or a ball gown (unless that’s your style) -it is late October in VA so weather is unpredictable. Katie recommends bringing a shawl/ light jacket or sweater in case it’s colder. -we plan/ hope to have the ceremony on the lawn (so ladies, plan shoes accordingly or pack flats for the lawn) -think semi-formal / dressy casual (we want you to be comfortable enough that you’ll join us on the dance floor, but not so casual you’d embarrass grandma)

With respect, while we both love kids & your little ones, we have decided to make our wedding an adult-only occasion unless otherwise noted ahead of time. We hope this advanced notice means you are still able to share our big day, and ideally have a well deserved kid-free date night!
We reserved blocks of rooms at both the SpringHill Suites & the Hampton Inn last October. Unfortunately, because it’s high wedding season, there are several other events that same weekend and we were capped at the number of rooms we can block. Katie recommends asking to talk to the point of contact at both hotels directly first (see hotel page for more details). Ask if you can be notified or put on wait for if a room becomes available. In the meantime, we are adding the other top recommended hotels for Sweeney Barn that are a short distance away.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30p. Guests are encouraged to start arriving at 4p and proceed directly to the ceremony space on the lawn.
There sure is! Sweeney Barn will serve both our ceremony & reception and there are roughly 100 parking spots directly at the venue. In addition to parking, guests are encouraged to take advantage of our complimentary shuttle service or can use Uber/ Lyft.
Trust me, you can dance. -Alcohol (and our awesome wedding playlist!) Bring those boogie shoes. 🕺🪩

Definitely not your birthday suit! 🤣 If you are attending the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner: Think Business causal. GENTS: sports coat, tie optional. LADIES: Romper, dress, skirt & top. Since there is a HUGE gap between the rehearsal & the dinner, feel free to go more casual for the rehearsal then change before dinner. We will have a hotel room to hang out in for the interim/ to change!
