Flight
The Mexico City airport is very accessible for english speakers so you shouldn't have a hard time navigating once you land! We recommend taking an Uber upon arrival unless your spanish es bueno (which I think covers maybe five total people reading this...), so Uber it is! Uber is very widely used in Mexico City and super safe, so don't be nervous! We do not recommend renting a car, as there will be no where to park it and it will just be a major pain in your rear.
Hotel
This will be the "main" hotel for the wedding and where the shuttle will pickup on Sunday for the wedding. We have the entire hotel reserved for our wedding (except for one room but let's just ignore them ha). Michael and I will be staying here the 6th-11th. This is a super cute, small boutique hotel in Condesa with really affordable rates. There's no AC but the evening temps will be in the 50's so you should be good! To reserve: Email the hotel recepcion@casadecu.com and let them know you are in Michael and Katherine's wedding party. The block is for the 7th, 8th, and 9th but rates will be extended on either side if you're coming earlier or staying later. All of the rooms have one bed, except for the duplex which is two bedrooms, one bed in each room! Just let them know what room and dates you want in your email! Options and rates are as follows: Executive Room: 129/night (one bed) Junior Suite: 165/night (one bed) Superior Suite: 198/night (one bed) Duplex Suite: 230/night (two beds) https://maps.google.com/?cid=11353313514210384272

Hotel
We LOVE this hotel! Every room is unique and it's the perfect blend of boutique and luxury. They don't do room blocks (sorry, we tried...) but they are holding the rate for all of our guests so prices won't go up on you. The hotel is in Roma Norte (a very cool and safe neighborhood) and is about a 15 minute walk to Decu House. To reserve: You can book directly on their website or email them, whatever you're more comfortable with! Room options range from 288 to 700, breakfast is included. Just let them know you're with our wedding party to get the correct rate
Hotel
CondesaDF is a very well known hotel in Mexico City located in the Condesa neighborhood, not too far from Decu House. It's a great option if you want something a bit bigger with a more traditional hotel experience. They don't do room blocks but it's a very large hotel so don't worry, they won't be running out of rooms. Good news is that they're locking our rates in so the prices won't go up on you! Rooms range from 218 to 650 depending on what you book. To reserve: Email the front desk or reserve directly on the website! Just let them know you're with our wedding party to get the correct rate
House Or Rental
Airbnb's are a really great affordable option in Mexico City if you aren't looking for a traditional hotel experience! We've created a list of options at the link above that are all available for the wedding weekend- everything from single bedroom options to group stay options. All of the options are close to hotels and in great, fun neighborhoods. Feel free to check them out and see if any work for you!
Travel Note
Uber- Uber is widely used and accessible in Mexico City so feel free to use this as your main source of transportation while in the city. Private Transportation- If you're wanting a private pickup from the airport or transportation to something outside the city we suggest using Royal Transport, website linked above. We are working on getting some discount codes for their services, so check back for that closer to the date! Your Feet!- We understand that being in a new city (or country) can be very intimidating, particularly when you don't speak the native language! But Mexico City is a very welcoming city and people will help you through your spanglish and directions, so go explore! Just like any major city, be smart and be aware of your surroundings but don't be afraid to wander and try new things. There's no other way to get to know a city!
Travel Note
If you're looking to book on your own or just curious about the landscape, here is a breakdown of neighborhoods and the vibes of each- Roma: Young and hip Condesa: Chill and authentic Polanco: Sleek and fun Juarez: Eclectic and up-and-coming (this is also where the venue is...)
Travel Note
Don't be scared to try! The city will be much friendlier to you if you just give it a shot, so we've outlined a few tools to help... Google translate- there's really nothing you can't accomplish in the city if you have this tool on your phone. You can scan menus and translate, you can type what you're trying to say and it will show you how to say it in Spanish (or... you can show the translation to whoever you're trying to speak to, ha!). Make sure you have this gem downloaded on your phone for this trip! Time2Talk- Brought to you by our dear friends Marina and Chris Jackman, this is a super cool app that you can use prior to your arrival in Mexico to practice your Spanish, on demand! You dial in when you can, on your schedule and for any amount of time you have, and they connect you with Spanish speaking teachers who will customize the conversations to whatever you need! Want to talk about ordering food at dinner, done. Maybe you want to practice asking for directions and responding to those instructions, easy. Duolingo- For the Spanish beginners, this is a great user friendly tool. You can download for free and practice a variety of subjects in a casual way. This is great for vocab brush ups and you can focus on travel, food, anything you want! Once you get your feet wet and think you want some more conversational practice, then switch over to Time2Talk!
