A original rec from our friend Sethaly, Rosetta is one of our favorites. Once you get over the hurdle of being in Mexico and thinking that eating Italian sounds ridiculous, you will love it. This is a very reasonably priced (amazing!) meal in a super cool space that we highly recommend you try out! Michael and I came here in February and he ordered three rounds of the tamales, so if you go... be sure to throw some of those back for him hah
Right around the corner from Casa Decu with great and quick tacos. We recommend the al pastor, which is a classic mexican option. Start slow with the salsas, they pack a punch
Probably our FAV coffee and breakfast spot in Mexico City. There is almost always a line outside but you can skip that line and walk inside to the counter to order coffees and pastries to go (para llevar...)
A new favorite breakfast and lunch spot! Kind of a hike from the hotel but we’ll worth it… we recommend trying the sabudana vada and the molote tikki- both are out of this world flavors and must try’s if you make it there! Finish the meal up with the papaya 🤩
Really awesome oyster bar with great mezcal cocktails! Huge open garage door seating inside with a great patio as well
Amazing traditional mexican breakfast in a super cozy spot
If you've tried Contramar and want another fish option this is the place to go! A little newer on the scene but a terrific option if you're in the mood for a great seafood meal
A MUST try while you're here even if it's just for a cocktail! They're open for lunch and dinner but it's a Super cool and swanky spot that serves up unique dishes with really cool presentations. A new favorite of ours.
One a of our all time favorite meals in Mexico City! This is a mexican + indian fusion restaurant, open for lunch and dinner. It's unreal, and honestly unlike any flavors you will probably ever have anywhere else. They don't seat past 6pm each day so we recommend going for lunch because it's unlikely you'll be able to get in for a reservation.
You will all meet Mo at some point on this trip (or perhaps already have!) and he will undoubtedly tell you to plan a dinner here. It's his favorite, and for good reason. Pujol is a Mexican restaurant named by Wall Street Journal as the best in Mexico City. The restaurant is run by world renowned chef Enrique Olvera and it's just an overall amazing experience with Beautiful ambiance and food. We highly recommend making reservations (far in advance!)
Located on the outskirts of Mexico City proper, at the National Autonomous University of Mexico campus, the Sculpture Park is totally off the tourist track. Featuring a range of grand outdoor sculptures, the park is best explored by foot. The sculpture space, which looks like a giant crater, is one the top things to spot. It's built around lava (which can be seen in the center) and has wonderful views from the ledge.
The museum, also known as "Casa Azul" for its shocking cobalt blue exterior, is where Frida Kahlo was born, raised, lived, and died. Visitors can take in a few paintings by Kahlo and her husband, Diego Rivera, in addition to other contemporary artists of their era. But perhaps more interesting is the voyeuristic window into their creative world. The home is carefully preserved and maintained; it's easy to image the spaces as they were during Kahlo's time. In addition to their personal effects and domestic materials, the collection of clothes and corsets Frida needed to support her body after her traumatic accident give an intimate look at the artist's daily struggles.
