Where should we stay?
Answer
We recommend staying at any of the four hotels we listed. Logistics can be found on the travel page of our website. Ask for the Hosker-Doyle wedding block. We recommend you book hotels quickly as the rooms will book up and the room blocks have a deadline. We also recommend searching on Airbnb and Vrbo as there are many available options for varying group sizes.

What is the best way to get to Charlottesville?
Answer
If you are flying, the Washington DC airports, DCA and IAD, are approximately 2.5 hours by car from downtown Charlottesville and have the best availability. RIC, just outside of Richmond, VA is 1.5 hours by car to Charlottesville. CHO, Charlottesville Region airport, is 10 miles from downtown Charlottesville with limited service from American, Delta and United. The hotels are in Charlottesville, and the wedding venue is just south of Charlottesville, at the Lodge at Mount Ida Farm and Vineyard. Mount Ida is a 4,000-acre destination within the Blue Ridge mountains with some of Virginia’s best views.

How do I get to the Lodge at Mount Ida?
Answer
The Lodge is located 35-40 minutes from hotels in downtown Charlottesville. We highly recommend you take the provided buses that will shuttle to and from the Lodge. There will be parking available for those that prefer to drive. If you do drive, please refer to the directions below, not GPS; From the Draftsman and Hampton Inn Head East on W. Main Street (right turn) • After .6 miles, turn right on Ridge Street • After .2 miles turn left on Monticello Avenue • After 1.6 miles Follow Monticello Avenue – turns into Route 20 South at Interstate 64 Follow direction from route 20 below • Take Exit 121 Scottsville/Charlottesville onto Route 20 South (travel approx. 6-7 miles) • Turn left onto Carter Mountain Road • Take an immediate right onto Secretary's Road (travel approx. 3 miles until you reach a 4-way stop) • At 4-way stop turn right onto Blenheim Road (travel approx. 2.5-3 miles) • When you arrive to the black and gold “The Lodge” sign on the left, turn left onto Moonlight. Drive through the open iron gates • Follow Moonlight Drive until you reach the Lodge If you come to a one-lane bridge, you have gone too far. Please turn around to find the Lodge entrance on your right.

Where will the wedding events take place - Indoor or Outdoor?
Answer
With weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors and the cocktail party and reception will be indoors. If inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the Lodge.

What is the weather like this time of year in Charlottesville?
Answer
We are optimistic about the weather concerning temperatures, but please be prepared for slightly cooler temperatures. We recommend bringing a jacket to ensure you are well prepared.

Although we love your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate them at the venue due to restricted numbers.
