Katherine and Alex met on Easter Sunday on the National Mall in 2021. Alex’s sister, Marissa, went to Bucknell with Katherine, knew her, and thought Katherine and Alex would make the perfect pair! The only issue was — she could never find a time to introduce them! They always seemed to be in different cities at different times… Finally, on Easter Sunday, both Katherine and Alex were on Washington DC’s National Mall, and Marissa was able to make the connection! Katherine and Alex subsequently got to know each other as friends; spent several years volunteering together for their church's kids’ program; met up with the same group of friends on weekends; and even vacationed together! (Katherine was invited as Marissa’s “Plus One” on a Hosker beach vacation just before they started dating!) From that point forward, Alex quickly realized what he had instinctually come to know during their friendship — that he met the woman of his dreams and his best friend with whom he wanted to journey life together. When he proposed, the entire Hosker family rejoiced, as they, too, had grown to love Katherine as a sister, a friend, and a 3rd daughter. The Doyle family also were thrilled, as they knew their youngest daughter had found “the one” she wanted to be with forever! He has since had the privilege to get to know even better the entire Doyle family who he loves — but he can’t seem to beat them in Pickleball! :) We are so excited to celebrate our marriage with you, our dearest friends and family!
