For the ceremony, on-street parking can be found on the surrounding blocks near the church. Off-street parking is available in the lot located directly behind the building; it can be accessed via Lombardy Street or Allen Avenue. Parking in the back lot also gives you access to the building’s ground level entrance and elevator. Go around to the front of the building to access the main entrance.
On-street parking can be found on the blocks surrounding the venue and is free on weekends, but please check for an hourly limit listed on the street signs. We recommend checking out the Hippodrome website for more parking options, including the Greater Richmond Convention Center parking deck nearby: https://hippodromerichmond.com/parking-options. You can also try https://www.parkme.com/richmond-va-parking/the-hippodrome-theater to locate the nearest parking option.
Lobby doors open at 4:30, but we strongly recommend arriving closer to 5 p.m. when our reception is scheduled to begin and the theater doors open. We encourage you to check out our Things to Do page for a list of fun ways to pass the time between our ceremony and reception while the wedding party is taking photos.
Our dress code is business informal to business formal. Men, please wear a suit or a nice pair of slacks/khakis and (preferably) a tie or bow tie. No jeans! Women, given that it'll likely be hot, knee length dresses are fine but please nothing too short, casual, or revealing. We will be in a formal church and a nice reception venue, so think Easter Sunday attire.
As much as we wish we could celebrate with everyone big and small, our reception is adults only, with the exception of the children in our wedding party. Thank you for your understanding!
Due to COVID-19 and venue restrictions, our guest count will be limited. Only the names of those invited will appear on the inner envelope of your formal wedding invitation. We will also clearly indicate on the inner envelopes whether a Plus One is included. Unless we directly tell you otherwise, children under the age of 18 will not be invited to attend the reception.
Please contact Katey or Chad by July 1 if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions (not preferences...) that you need for us to pass on to our caterer.
Legally, we cannot force you to, but as bound by the laws of our friendship with you, yes, dancing is required. Get ready.
It ends at 9 p.m. sharp!
