In the Beginning, There Was Tang & Biscuit

August 16, 2019

It all started one Friday evening when our roommates both convinced us-independently and with no notion of what would happen-to join them at Tang & Biscuit for a night out with church friends. As the night began, according to Chad, he noticed Katey from across the room and (so he says) saw some "competition" approaching her, so he swooped in, slapped down his credit card to reserve a court, and claimed his territory as Katey's shuffleboard competitor for the night. After a game full of smack talking, they passed the "tang" to some other players and parted ways to chat with some other people for a bit. Unaware to Chad, Katey kept a bit of an eye on him, wondering if he'd come back to chat some more... When the night began to die down, a few folks decided to go over to Bingo for some arcade games. To her delight, Chad said he would also be going, yet, to her dismay, he was nowhere to be seen when she arrived. As she tells it, she was incredibly smooth at asking where he was, while Chad smuggly brags about receiving a text that "the Katey girl" was looking for him. We'll let you decide who's accurate here. Anyhoo, by the end of the night, Mr. Slick made up his mind that he must see Katey again (duh). So, with all the suavete he could muster up, he said the romantic words that any girl would hope to hear..."If you ever want to train at the gym sometime, let me know." womp womp Thank goodness Katey is persistent, because after three days of wondering if he'd ever text, she (once again so smoothly) concocted a plan to have a game night and text him to invite him... --- And there you have it. From that game night on, our relationship blossomed. It would be a lie to say either one of us has become more slick, or that our individual weirdness hasn't compounded and taken us both to the next level of weird (we ain't normal, we know), but we're okay with that. With any luck, for the rest of our lives, we'll continue to grow even weirder together, never stop making one another laugh, and always remind the other just how loved he or she is. Thank you all for supporting us in our union and journey. We love you all so much and can't wait to celebrate not only our big day together with you, but the rest of our lives as husband and wife. -Chad & Katey
