The Wedding Website of Katelyn Tate and Maria Lacouture
We have included recommendations to help you in your travel to Casa Bruciata in Perugia, Umbria. Please give extra consideration to how you will get from the airport to and from Casa Bruciata.

House Or Rental

Tenuta di Casa Bruciata

Località San Bartolomeo dei Fossi
Preggio, Umbria 06019, Italy

Casa Bruciata is a 14th century villa situated on 32 acres, known for its olive groves, homemade Italian cooking, and outstanding poolside views! This is where all the wedding events will take place. We will be housing all the guests on-site at the villa, which includes nine casitas of varying sizes and room capacities. Details for booking entire casitas or individual rooms will be provided with the official RSVP.

Flight

Rome (FCO)

FLIGHT SUGGESTION A: Fly to Rome and rent a car to drive to the villa or take a train to Perugia, the town closest to the villa. The best airport would be Rome–Fiumicino International Airport (FCO). Distance from the venue: 205km / 2hr 30min by car.

Flight

Florence (FLR)

FLIGHT SUGGESTION B: Fly to Florence and rent a car to drive to the villa or take a train to Perugia, the town closest to the villa. Of note, there are limited flights to Florence from the US. The best airport would be Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR). Distance from the venue: 140km / 1hr 50min by car

Flight

Perugia (PEG)

FLIGHT SUGGESTION C: To access the villa, one option is to fly directly to Perugia. Perugia is the closest airport to the villa. It is a smaller airport with limited flights, but worth a look if you're looking to cut down on driving time. Distance from the venue: 45km / 45 min by car

Rental Car

Drive from Airport to Casa Bruciata

AIRPORT TO VILLA, SUGGESTION A: Renting a car is likely the most user-friendly option. This will allow you the freedom to explore both during our week and before/after. The villa is in an Italian wine region and is a relatively remote area with limited taxi and ride-share services. This option is especially recommended if you are traveling with a child requiring a car seat or booster seat, as these accommodations may be limited on public transportation. Renting a car and driving in Italy is very similar to the US! They drive on the right side of the road and Hertz, Enterprise are both at FCO & FLR. The only prerequisite is to acquire an International Driving Permit, which can be done quickly and easily in-person at any AAA location in the US. We found a great guide that explains it better below:

Train

Train (Perugia)

AIRPORT TO VILLA, SUGGESTION B: If you'd prefer not to drive, you can get near Casa Bruciata by train and arrange pickup from the station. ‍TrenItalia has a direct train from Roma Tremini Train Station to Perugia that's about 2.5 hours, and a direct train from Florence Santa Maria Novella (SMN) to Perugia that's about 1.5 hours. We recommend booking with Trainline for convenience. The train station is a 30 minute drive from the villa, and a shuttle can be arranged to pick guests up from the train station. Please indicate in the RSVP if you would like a shuttle to Casa Bruciata to be arranged.
