Short answer; Marble, Redstone, or Carbondale are all good options. Long answer; The venue is 1/2 way between the towns of Marble and Redstone, which are six miles in either direction. There are Airbnb options in both towns and along the way. There are hotel options in Redstone. It's a little bit further, but stay at Avalanche Ranch if you can. Carbondale is @25-30 minutes from the venue and there are Airbnb and hotel options there as well. Glenwood Springs is about 45 minutes away and is the most affordable option. See the "Travel and Accommodations" page for more specifics.
For those visiting from out of town, we suggest you stop for a few groceries in Carbondale on your way up. We are holding a Welcome Dinner Friday night and of course, will feed you at the wedding. Other than that, you're on your own! In Redstone, there is Propaganda Pie (Detroit-style pizza), The Redstone Inn (which has a wedding that weekend), and the Redstone General Store. The General Store has some grocery options and serves coffee, breakfast, and lunch. Marble has Slow Groovin' BBQ (who is catering the wedding), and that's it!
Most likely, it will feel summery during the day and it will get chilly at night. The average low in Marble in September is 38 degrees. There's a chance it will feel like fall during the day and be really chilly at night. If you plan to hang out after the sun goes down, you will be happy you brought a puffy coat and socks/shoes no matter what. As the big day approaches, we will send updates if the forecast looks abnormal in any way.
There is no cell service in Marble. After driving through Carbondale, you'll lose service pretty quickly. Make sure you have directions to your lodging pulled up before making the drive!
No. There is public transportation to Carbondale but from there, you'll need a car, or a ride.
Sorry, but no! Guests staying at Chair Mountain Ranch are allowed to have dogs in their cabins, but we ask that no dogs attend the ceremony or reception.
