$ - Shawarma Mugrabi is located on a block of Haifa famous for it's shawarma restaurants and other street food. If Mugrabi is crowded, any of the others are good as well. Mugrabi also has good falafel for the vegetarians (almost all shawarma places will also serve falafel). Also while there, look for restaurants serving another dish called bourekas haagala which is a a phyllo dough pastry filled with cheese. Go to the "Photos" page of this website to see the street view of the strip of restaurants as well as a bourekas.
$$ - Located on a Kibbutz (Kidmat Tsvi) and featuring farm-to-table pescatarian cuisine, the cooks make all of the wine, cheese, milk and vegetables on-site. We recommend calling ahead of time to schedule reservations as it's a small place but highly worth the ~90 minute drive (very scenic through the Golan Heights and easy to stop at the Sea of Galilee - called the Kineret - along the way).
