House Or Rental
Our venue is located about 4 miles from downtown Whitefish and encourage everyone to stay in Whitefish, too (especially since we'll be ending the night at the Great Northern Bar!) We strongly suggest looking at short-term vacation rental (AirBnB, VRBO, etc) as there are a ton of great options all within walking distance of downtown. If you'd prefer to stay at a hotel, here's what we recommend (in order of distance from downtown): - The Firebrand Hotel (in the heart of downtown!) - The Pine Lodge on Whitefish River - Best Western Rocky Mountain Lodge - Grouse Mountain Lodge - Marriott TownePlace Suites - Hampton Inn - The Lodge at Whitefish Lake
Flight
All of the seasonal flights for summer and fall should be announced now for service into Glacier Park International Airport (FCA), so we suggest you book your flights as soon as you know you're attending. You can also look at flying into Missoula, which is occasionally less expensive, but know it's a 2-hour drive (that's gorgeous!) each way to Whitefish.
Rental Car
We strongly suggest you book a rental car. Uber/Lyft are spotty and expensive here, plus, if you plan on exploring Glacier National Park (we hope you do!), rideshare and taxi companies are not allowed to operate within the park. Our friends at Budget Rental Car (thanks Vance!!) have committed to beating all other rental car company prices for anyone coming to our wedding. To book your rental car, please email Vance Watson at vwatson@rovarllc.com. He'll need to know your dates of travel and the size car you'd like.
Train
If you know Paul, you know he loves the train! In the heart of downtown Whitefish is the original train depot that was built in 1928 and modeled after the alpine-style chalets seen around Glacier National Park. Amtrak's Empire Builder route runs through Whitefish daily, serving St. Paul/Minneapolis, Spokane, and Seattle/Portland. While the travel time might be longer than flying or driving, the train affords unparalleled views that are not accessible by car!
