From downtown Whitefish, it's about a 30-minute drive to the West Entrance of Glacier National Park, then, depending on how many times you stop, it takes about an hour to reach Logan Pass. You will need: 1. A $2 vehicle reservation pass from recreation.gov. You will need to purchase this in advance! Many time slots are already sold out, but more passes will be released at 7:00pm the night before you'd like to go (and they will sell out in minutes, so set a reminder)! There is NO cell service at the entrance of the park to purchase one of these - it must be purchased in advance. 2. A National Park pass. You can get this at any of the entrance gates to the park. Our favorite hikes include Avalanche Lake, Hidden Lake Overlook, and the Highline Trail. The Red Bus Tour is also a great way to see the park, but it doesn't provide for hiking opportunities. Please bring bear spray, layers, and water everywhere!
