Gavin and Kate’s story began the way many great love stories do. They were at someone else’s wedding. Kate’s high school best friend, Annabella, married Gavin’s college roommate, Brandon. Gavin received his first Air Force assignment: flying the C-17 Globemaster III out of Charleston, South Carolina. What felt like a long shot suddenly felt a lot like fate. So they took a leap. For nearly a year, they dated long-distance while finishing those important chapters of their lives, all the while building something steady and certain. Both sensing that this was something special, they made an effort to nurture the relationship through long road trips and late night FaceTimes. Kate never imagined moving back East, loving her life in the mountains, but she loved Gavin more. When the time came, she made the decision to trade the peaks of Colorado for the beautiful Lowcountry and the love of her life.
