Strolling historic downtown Hendersonville is easy and charming with famous painted bears, plenty of shops, art galleries, and eateries
After walking through downtown Main Street, you MUST go get a Carolina burger with onion rings and a chocolate shake at Hot Dog world (Kate's order) or All American Cheeseburger with fries and chocolate shake (Devin's order). Of course, the Jumbo Dog is an all time favorite. Other places to eat: Black Bear Coffee Co, HenDough Chicken & Donuts, Flat Rock Village Bakery, Postero (fancier), Blue Mountain Pizza
After you stuffed yourself with Hot Dog world (or before), go to Carl Sandburg's home and hike up Glassy Mountain! 3.4 miles would say somewhat easy! Other recommended Hikes include: DuPont State Recreational Forest (triple falls), Pisgah National Forest (frying pan tower is a personal fav), Jump Off Rock (no hiking involved, just a good view)
After hiking Glass Mountain at Carl Sandburg's home, go cool off with apple cider and apple cider donuts! You can even pick your own apples!
If you want to experience the brewery charm of Asheville without having to travel the 40 minutes, Sierra Nevada is the Disney World of breweries and closer to our venue!
Great Pizza and more!
Casual, good mexican food
If your looking for a nice atmosphere, this is it.
If you're willing to branch out, downtown Asheville is the micro-brewery capital of the world! Downtown Asheville is about a 40 minute drive from the venue. There are many great restaurants, breweries and venues in the area. If you plan to see Asheville please let us know and we would be happy to make recommendations! Non-Brewery Recommendations: Omni Grove Park Inn (beautiful historic hotel), River Arts District, Biltmore Estate (largest house in the country but expensive to visit), Blueridge Parkway (beautiful drive), Red Ginger Dimsum & Tapas (favorite restaurant), Double D's Coffee & Desserts (where Devin asked Kate to be his girlfriend)
