Kathryn and Devin met in their freshman year of college at North Carolina State University in 2016. Over time the two became closer and so then as Kate's latest sorority date function approached, she decided to ask Devin to attend with her. Although Kate may insist that this was not technically their first date as she loves to claim their first date was a few weeks prior on Valentine's Day when the two had a romantic evening of dining hall dinner and ice-cream followed by racquetball... with a few of their friends. Devin just didn't know it was a Valentine's Day date at the time.

Kate and Devin officially began dating the summer after freshman year. From there, they would chart their path through college together, attending countless football games, studying abroad in Australia, and sharing great memories all along the way.

After graduating from NC State and spraying some much needed champagne on the Belltower, they both received great job opportunities. The only downside was that the two jobs were in two different cities -- Charlotte and Seattle. With Devin in Seattle and Kate in Charlotte, the two persisted through the difficulties of long distance and remained committed to their relationship, knowing how special of a bond they had. Over the next two years, Kate and Devin would criss cross across the US to spend as much time together as they could. Even though long distance was never ideal, they were both able to meet great new friends and have incredible experiences in these new places.

After two years of long distance, Kate and Devin searched for cities all over for the two of them to settle on and grow their roots in. After a good bit of looking, they settled upon Hermosa Beach, California in the South Bay of Los Angeles and have loved living there. In the few years they have lived there, they have been fortunate to experience beautiful new places, met great friends, and bolstered their love for one another.

This love all culminated on August 31st, 2024 when Devin proposed to Kate in New York City.

Through every challenge, every adventure, and every milestone, Kate and Devin have built a relationship filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. From their first days as college freshmen to navigating long-distance, to finally building a life together in California, they have always found their way back to each other. Now, they get to celebrate this journey surrounded by the people they love most, excited for all the memories still to come.
