Silver Lake - Big Cottonwood Canyon
This is a hike for everyone! Enjoy the amazing views of Big Cottonwood Canyon on the boardwalk around Silver Lake. If you're feeling up to it, you can also hike up to Twin Lakes reservoir from this same trailhead. Either way, you are guaranteed beautiful views, and likely to see some good wildlife. We personally have seen Moose, Beaver, Deer, and Osprey on this loop.
Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge
An easy-moderate 2.5 mile loop with beautiful views of the south end of the valley, and a 190 foot suspension bridge over Bear Canyon.
Natural History Museum of Utah
Perfect for a rainy day or any curious mind. NHMU houses the largest collection of Allosaurus (Utah's state fossil) in the world!
Antelope Island
The best way (we think) to see the Great Salt Lake! There are plenty of hiking and biking trails all over the island, as well as amazing vistas that are accessible by car. Antelope Island is home to one of the largest publicly owned bison herds in the US.
Moab
If you are in Utah for more than a few days, we highly recommend heading down to Moab for some true desert living. Just a 4 hour drive from SLC, Moab is a town packed with activities. Its home to 2 National Parks, 1 state Park, the Colorado River, and so much more. Because of how popular the town is, there is no shortage of accommodations, restaurants, rentals, activities, guides, and more. Every Saturday from 8am-2pm Explore the biggest Farmer's Market in the state and enjoy local produce, art, food, and music.
Big Cottonwood Flea Market
Sundays 10am-5pm Such a fun and laid-back Sunday activity. Putz around the flea market stalls, grab lunch at the Brighton Store (if the weather is good, they have the grill going), and enjoy an easy hike around Silver Lake on the boardwalk, or try for one of the more challenging lake hikes around Brighton.
