Jennifer is Kat's longtime bestie. The two officially met in high school choir class one fine day in Tennessee, and found each other to be quite hilarious. They've gotten themselves in all sorts of awkward conundrums together--waving palm leaves at a Little Mermaid choral performance, working as camp counselors during a cicada plague, and driving to a Cyndi Lauper concert with fur hanging out of the smashed headlight because Kat hit a deer the day before (Fellow animal lovers: The deer was okay! We're still debating if we are, too). What makes Jennifer such a wonderful friend is her loyalty, her sense of humor, and her sweet, caring heart. She also does a great rendition of the Golden Girls' theme song, "Thank You For Being a Friend!" Thank YOU for being a friend, Jennifer!
Dan Moberly
Best Man
Dan is Jon's childhood sidekick. They grew up in the same neighborhood, meeting often to probably not cause mayhem. (Allegedly.) Ever since they were kids, the two have kept in touch, which is a testament to one of their best shared traits: loyalty. Jon describes Dan as his fishing buddy and a friend who's always been there for him during the important times in life. When it comes to friendship, Dan is most definitely a keeper.
Cosette Stano
Schnoodle of Honor
Cosette is the best schnoodle in the world. It's true! Cosette has been Kat's sidekick since 2014, and Jon's biggest band groupie since 2018. As Schnoodle of Honor, her duties will mostly consist of entertaining the people. Her hobbies include barking at cars, playing with Squeaky, and obsessing over Jon. Cosette was named after the story, Les Misérables because she's part French poodle and a "little thing." Not because she's miserable. She's actually very spoiled. While Kat is marrying Jon, we all know that Cosette is the love of her life. Cosette will blissfully be escorted by her plus-one, the distinguished artist, children's book illustrator, and fellow Ohioan, Mr. Aaron DeWitt.
Isabella Saura
Flower Girl
Bella is Jon's daughter, and Kat's bonus daughter and friend! She's a musician just like her dad, and can rock out on the guitar, ukulele, and piano. Not only does she play some pretty sweet notes, she writes them, too. (Kat would like to take credit for that, but Bella is a talented wordsmith all on her own!) Also like Jon, Bella's an expressive artist, a great cook, a fantastic gamer, and let us just say, a roller skating whiz with some major style. She's a friend to all animals and wise beyond her years. Bella lives up to her lovely name...a beautiful girl with a beautiful heart!
Reese Saura
Lantern Keeper
Reese is Jon's son, and Kat's bonus son and pal! Reese is known in some circles as a master gamer. Ask him what he's currently playing on the Nintendo Switch. He'll be glad to tell you all about it! But proceed at your own risk: this guy's got gaming game! Reese is also a magnificent dancer, and will put us all to shame on the dance floor. A kind and caring kiddo, Reese loves all fur babies, camping, and chocolate chip cookies. If you ever need a little encouragement, talk to Reese. He'll tell you, "You got this!" Reese, you're a good boy and a fun dude! Reese is carrying a candle to remember Jon's dad, Daniel Dean, whose spirit lives in memories of childhood trips to Sanibel, fall fishing trips with his three boys, and the best seafood dinners a father and son could ask for.
Matt Stano
Lantern Keeper
Matt is Kat's younger brother and occasional nemesis. You'll usually find him with his wife, Adelaida, running their business, and/or being proud paw-rents to two gorgeous fur babies: Hugo and Betty. When he's not managing their law office (Matt + Adelaida's. Not Hugo + Betty's), he and Adelaida, help lost animals find homes. Together, they've saved four dogs, two cats, and a chicken named Stano who now happily lives on a rescue farm. Matt is a former Maine lobsterman, evening news anchor, and professional videographer...and even has dedicated much of his time to making a documentary about our older brother, John. The candle he carries is in memory of John, who shared our love for animals, art, and the great blue ocean.
Cami Saura
Lantern Keeper
Cami is Jon's daughter and the coolest kind of friend Kat could ask for. She's also the coolest kind of friend any cat could ask for, being a kindred spirit to all the fur babies. Like her dad, Cami plays a pretty sweet electric guitar and is a very talented artist. She's also got a green thumb and a thriving vegetable garden, which is impressive to Kat, who's killed many plants (unintentionally, of course). What's so lovable about Cami is her big heart, her perceptive nature, and a smile that's like pure sunshine. Cami is carrying a candle to remember her grandmother, Mimi, and Jon's mom, Mary Ann, who loved lilacs, cooking for her family, and once said, "Jon has always been the same. He's always been a good boy."
