We’re getting married!!

I was working at a local pet store in Cashiers, NC that I absolutely adored! It was the perfect job for me! I got to meet so many amazing people and their precious fur-babies! One customer in particular stuck out a lot. He would come in daily to get a treat or a toy for his new puppy he had gotten in June of 2021! He would always come in, shop around for a while, ask questions, and then pick something out to buy! It was a daily occurrence between 3pm and 5pm Monday-Friday! Sometimes he would bring a friend in with him and other times it was just him! I noticed the pattern rather quickly and he was always quick to start a conversation that would go on for hours! Some days well after closing time, but I always liked talking so it was never a bother! One day he introduced himself and claimed his sweet pup just loved toys so after a long work day he’d stop in to buy his pup a new toy! After weeks of him coming in daily and talking for hours at a time we ended up getting into a routine! He picked up on snacks that I would have with me and would often stop in at a random hour and drop off a snack for me and leave. Not buying a toy or even chatting with me, just dropping off a snack and leaving! One day he asked me for my number and I declined, saying I was just at a weird impasse in life but eventually I caved and made a game out of his question! I gave him my area code and the first three digits to my number! He eventually got tired of trying to get my number and brought in a crumbled up piece of paper and left it on my counter and told me to keep it if I ever changed my mind! On that paper was his name and number written in yellow sharpie! I kept that note in my bag for a rainy day. Eventually after getting close and talking daily for several weeks he disappeared or so I thought. He just went out of town for a long weekend trip, but I had no clue! The next time he came in he was clean shaven and I didn’t even recognize him! Once it finally clicked that it was him I of course pestered him and asked where he had been and what happened to his face given the last time I saw him he had a beard! He explained he was out of town and then busy with work but we quickly got back to our regularly scheduled daily visits! These visits ended up turning into hour long talks, him helping customers and explaining products he liked or disliked, and then us talking for many hours after closing time until one day, November 27th to be exact, I decided to take that crumpled up note out of my bag and gave him a call! From that day forward we have been inseparable! Fast forward almost 4 years, we’re engaged with an almost 3 year old son and in the midst of wedding planning!
