Deidesheim Town

Deidesheim, RP, Germany

The immaculately preserved half-timber houses and historical facades lining its narrow streets fit perfectly with Deidesheim's reputation as one of the most renowned wine towns in the Pfalz. despite its size, it's a town that boasts Michelin-starred restaurants and world-class hotels owned by each of its biggest wine producers, Bassermann, Buhl, and Bürklin-Wolf.

Weinstrasse - Wine Route

Weinstrasse - Wine Route

Neustadt, RP, Germany

The reason we chose Pfalz (Palatinate in English) for our wedding!! The German weinstrasse is one of the oldest in the world and home to the world's largest wine festival (Bad Durkheim). There are so many great wineries to try and soooo little time. There are several within walking distance of downtown Deidesheim and many many more that you can visit by car.

Heidelberg

Heidelberg

Heidelberg, BW, Germany

Heidelberg is 50km from Deidesheim and is German charm at its best! If you are flying out of FRA airport to head back to the US, we recommend staying a night in Heidelberg beforehand. You can catch a train from the city center directly to the FRA airport. The train takes about 1 hour. Fun Fact: Karl’s brother, Peter, is an orthopedic surgeon in Heidelberg’s university hospital and Karl’s parents studied law there.

Mannheim

Mannheim, BW, Germany

“Mannheim is unusual among German cities in that its streets and avenues are laid out in a grid pattern [between the Rhine and Neckar rivers], leading to its nickname "die Quadratestadt" (The City of Squares). The eighteenth century Mannheim Palace now houses the University of Mannheim. Fun Fact: Karl and his sister Niki both studied business and economics at the University of Mannheim.
