FAQs

The Wedding Website of Karissa Bjorkgren and Scott Lopez
Question

What's the deadline to RSVP?

Answer

We recommend RSVPing as soon as possible so accommodations and transportation can be finalized. Please RSVP by April 1st at the latest.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Unfortunately, our venue and ceremony location are unsuitable for children. We encourage you to leave the kiddos at home or plan to bring a sitter.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Accommodations for our wedding party have been arranged at the venue. This will be indicated on your RSVP. For friends and family not housed at our venue, we have prebooked several neighboring homes to ensure everyone can stay close by. If your RSVP does not indicate that accommodations have already been arranged for you, please peruse the options on our Travel page and reach out as soon as possible with which lodging option you would prefer. If your RSVP indicates that accommodations have been arranged for you but you are NOT interested in staying at the shared accommodations at the venue, please reach out as soon as possible so we can offer your room to one of our other guests.

Question

When should I book my transportation?

Answer

You'll likely need to book a flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and rent a car to reach the venue. Industry standard recommends booking a domestic flight 1-3 months before departure. Therefore, we recommend purchasing your flight by February 22nd. We recommend reserving your rental car around this same time. Feel free to reach out if you would like any assistance booking your travel. We highly recommend carpooling so please let us know when your flight has been booked so we can pair you in a vehicle with other guests arriving around the same time to hopefully reduce costs.

Question

What events should I plan to attend throughout the weekend?

Answer

We are asking guests to arrive on Thursday, May 22nd and depart on Monday, May 26th. All guests are invited to attend our Welcome Event on Friday (2pm) at Olympic Cellars. We also invite all guests to attend the Ceremony at Madison Falls (8am) and the Reception at the venue (6pm) on Saturday. Please review the Schedule page and your RSVP for other events happening throughout the weekend. Additionally, when completing your RSVP, we encourage you to complete the Plan My Trip questionnaire. This will allow us to get a sense of your favorite types of activities so that we can create a custom itinerary for your long weekend. It is our hope that each of you can turn this event into a curated vacation of your very own!

Question

How do I get to the Ceremony and What Should I Expect?

Answer

The Ceremony will be held at Madison Falls in Olympic National Park. Both Google and Apple Maps will direct you to the parking area by searching for "Madison Falls Trailhead" or the following address: 1930 Olympic Hot Springs Rd, Port Angeles, WA 98363. Parking is limited so we recommend carpooling. Upon arrival, find a parking spot in the gravel lot and follow the trail .1 miles (2 minute walk) to the Falls. A member of the wedding party will be there to greet you and show you to your assigned spot. The hiking trail is the aisle so please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes in advance to ensure you have time for parking and the short hike before the bride arrives!

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held outdoors at a waterfall. Expect wet/muddy terrain; we recommend wearing hiking shoes, sandals you don't mind getting dirty, or joining the bride and groom in a barefoot ceremony. The reception will be held outdoors at the venue but rain covers and outdoor heaters will be provided.

Question

What should I do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

As you may have noticed, our ceremony will be held at 8am. We know this is early, but since the National Park is public land, we chose a morning ceremony to hopefully avoid strangers joining us at the altar. Following the ceremony, we ask our wedding party to stick around for a photo shoot at the event. Family and friends are free to depart and enjoy the rest of your day as you see fit! We recommend exploring some local hikes in the Park, enjoying the downtown Port Angeles area, or relaxing at the venue. We ask that our families meet us back at the venue at 5pm for family photos before the reception kicks off at 6pm. Since we know this is a long time to spend in your formal attire, feel free to dress up or go for a more casual look at the reception.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

For the ceremony and reception, please wear semi-formal/cocktail attire. Think cocktail dresses or a suit and tie or sports coat. Since the ceremony will be held outdoors, we recommend a water resistant jacket. There is no dress code for the rest of the weekend: feel free to dress as formal or as comfortable as you wish!

Question

How should I pack for the weather?

Answer

Spring in the Pacific Northwest is cool and mild. Average temperatures range from the 50s to 70s with intermittent clouds and sun. We recommend packing layers with at least one warm, waterproof coat since the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. If you plan on exploring the Park and area surrounding the venue, we recommend shoes you don't mind getting muddy, sunglasses, and wind resistant clothing.

Question

Will Brody be there?

Answer

Yes, of course :) In fact, instead of flying out to Washington, Karissa and Scott are renting an RV and driving all the way across the country to make sure the Ring Bearer/Dog of Honor can attend. He'll be present at both the Ceremony and Reception and is available for pets.
