Make sure you are booking to land on the island of Oʻahu at Honolulu International Airport (HNL). We love Hawaiian Airlines, but there are many airlines that have more options for travel from the continent.

We try our best to choose where we stay intentionally especially in Hawaiʻi where the tourism industry can be quite extractive. The Kaimana Beach Hotel is recently under Native Hawaiian Management and local ownership! Pro Tip: rentals like AirBnb have negatively impacted and exacerbated Hawaiʻi's housing shortage so we elect not to support these short term rentals especially when they are removing housing that could be for local families and are instead bought by foreign investors to rent for profit to visitors.

We love how social media can connect us from far distances. Some thoughts from us if you are posting photos or other media from your trip: If traveling to beaches or hikes, please do not GeoTag your location on social media. We do not want to contribute to overuse and overcrowding of more of our outdoor spaces. In general, please do not take the position of trying to "influence" more visitors to come to Hawaiʻi.
