Things To Do

Sonoma and the surrounding area is filled with endless options of things to do during your visit. Sonoma is located in the heart of wine country, with neighboring Napa just a short drive away. There is so much to see and experience in the immediate area - from wine tasting at some of the world's most renowned vineyards, to exploring hiking trails and gorgeous scenery, to enjoying restaurants and shopping in town. Additionally, San Francisco is just an hour away from Sonoma, where you can take advantage of its restaurants, museums, and historic sights. Below are a few suggestions of things to do in one of our favorite places in the world!

Sonoma Plaza

Sonoma, CA

Sonoma Plaza is the town's historic center, filled with charming shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and galleries to explore. The plaza makes for a perfect stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We love stopping into some of the specialty food stores to pick up picnic supplies before heading out to neighboring wineries!

Sonoma Wine Tasting

Sonoma, CA

Everywhere you turn in Sonoma there is a new winery to explore. With endless options, we recommend doing a little research beforehand to see what wineries catch your eye! These days, with covid precautions in mind, the vast majority require reservations for wine tastings. We highly recommend booking these in advance since the wedding is taking place in peak spring season!

Napa Valley Wine Train

Napa, CA

Want to explore Napa's famous wineries without having to navigate driving and traffic? The Napa Valley Wine Train is a great option to take in the beautiful scenery while stopping at some of the areas best wineries!

A Visit to San Francisco

San Francisco, CA

A drive across the Golden Gate Bridge? Seafood at Fisherman's Wharf? A day in Golden Gate Park and visit to the DeYoung Museum? There are so many fun things to do in the City by the Bay! If you have specific interests or want specific ideas, feel free to reach out to us!

Muir Woods National Monument

Mill Valley, CA

A California must see especially if it's your first visit! There is nothing quite like seeing the giant redwoods in Muir Woods

Spa Day at the Sonoma Mission Inn

Sonoma Mission Inn, Sonoma, CA

Regardless of whether or not you're staying at the Sonoma Mission Inn, their spa is a great way to spend an afternoon. The property is built directly on top of Boyes Hot Springs, creating geo thermal pools throughout their facility. Book a treatment or get a day pass to enjoy a relaxing day pool side!
