Hotel
This is the location of our wedding venue! It is a gorgeous hotel with an incredible view of the cliffs and ocean! We recommend staying here if you are able! Tivoli Carvoeiro is not offering a room block, unfortunately. If you register with their "Discovery" membership (which is completely free), it includes a 10% discount. We will have a welcome event on May 13 (location TBD) and our wedding is May 14. Recommend a room with a view - it’s worth it! Contact the bride or groom with any reservation issues. “Ana” and “Liliana” are also our contacts for the hotel if you would like to ask to speak with them Email: carvoeiro@tivoli-hotels.com Alternatively, please inquire about a reservation via our wedding planner's reservations department (no cost to you). Please email the “Glamour Reservations Department” (Marcia and Isabel) with the title “Kalli & Nick - 14 May 2026” to Glamour.reservations@domitur.pt and they should hopefully allow you to book a room
Hotel
Walkable - less than a half mile from the wedding venue!
Hotel
There are many Airbnb options available in Carvoeiro, with English-speaking hosts. We used two different Airbnb when visiting in Portugal this fall, and had zero issues. There are villa options for big groups as well! FYI - It may be required to fill out a SEF “Serviço De Estrangeiros E Fronteiras” form/link (Borders Service) with your passport number (for identification). See FAQ page for more information, but this is a norm when traveling to and throughout Portugal.
Flight
Pros: Direct flights from USA, generally cheaper than FAO. Most common airport to fly into for this wedding. Can take bus or train to get down to the Algarve. Cons: Does not fly directly to the Algarve (Carvoeiro)
Flight
Pros: Closest airport to final destination (Carvoeiro). Cons: No direct flights; requires layover. Smaller airport, will be more expensive
Flight
Pros: Often overlooked, but can be cost-effective Cons: Since this is in Spain, international car rental may be tricky across borders. No direct train into Algarve region from Seville
Rental Car
Helpful blog linked about best rental car services and FAQs Car Rentals: Available at Lisbon Airport or downtown Tolls: ~€20 total (credit cards accepted at tolls) Travel time from Lisbon to Carvoeiro: ~2.5-3.5 hours General Instructions: A2 highway > A22 (Algarve motorway)
Travel Note
Express buses (e.g., Rede Expressos, FlixBus) go directly from Lisbon to Lagoa (not to be confused with Lagos) with minimal stops, and they are faster than regional trains for this route. WiFi and air conditioning! We took this route when we visited in November and it was easy, just have your QR code/ticket available. 1) We departed from Sete Rios bus terminal in Lisbon. 2) Arrive at Lagoa (~8 min uber ride to Tivoli Carvoeiro Hotel). Please again note that “Lagoa” is different than “Lagos”
Train
This takes longer than a bus trip and we haven’t personally tried this route. Getting to Carvoeiro by Train Route: Lisbon → Tunes → Estômbar-Lagoa → Uber to Carvoeiro Taxis or Ubers are available at Estômbar-Lagoa station for the short ride into town. Booking in advance is recommended, especially during summer weekends. Estimated fare: €20–30 per person
