Welcome Picnic

Casual attire for a picnic, or hiking or swimming if you are so inclined

We wanted to ensure we had time during the wedding weekend to spend time with our loved ones. The park has trails, sand volleyball, and a waterfall with a swimming hole. All are welcome to come spend the evening enjoying food and company. Join us for hot dogs, burgers, and watermelon (we are not providing additional sides). You are welcome, but not compelled, to bring a dish to share. Alcohol is not permitted at the park.

Our Wedding/Reception

Please dress for a celebration in Middle Earth-- as an elf, wizard, hobbit, or orc (costumes encouraged)! Some examples and inspiration are in the photo gallery. Dress as if it were the Renaissance Festival! Please leave weapons at home. Examples: vests, corsets, long dresses, robes, leather, flower crowns, feathers, armor, staffs, fur, elf ears, fake beards, wizard hats, face paint, etc.

We are planning for an unplugged ceremony. That means to please refrain from using your phones (even for pictures) during the ceremony. You are encouraged to take photos once the ceremony is over! You are welcome to arrive at 4 pm. The ceremony will start at 4:30 pm. Cocktail hour will immediately follow the ceremony, with Shire-cuterie and specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and mead, as well as alcohol free beverages. Dinner will be served at 6, a buffet including: - Cornish Hens - Steak & Ale Stew - Mac n Cheese - Saruman’s Meatless Stew - Lambas Bread and Butter - Elf Forest Salad Karaoke, dancing, and desserts will start following dinner. The reception will end around 9, but if any are interested in keeping the party going, there will be an optional bar crawl in downtown Morganton afterward. Also, be aware the venue is changing their name to Ivory Mill, so please do not be confused if the name on the venue is different from the one we gave you.
