Welcome to our happily ever after

Jan and Kalia met in their first few months of undergrad at Cal State Fullerton (Go Titans!). Jan and Kalia had mutual friends that they would sit with every night for dinner at the dorm cafeteria. They weren't fond of each other at first, but they found that they both had a great love for food, family, friends, naps, and anime. As they got to know each other more, they learned that they had much more common than they thought and enjoyed the time they spent together. After a date of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, walking around a mall, and getting lost for two hours, Jan and Kalia officially became a couple on November 5, 2011.

Jan spent several months planning and collaborating with Kalia's family to have the grandest proposal for Kalia. The initial plan was for Jan, Kalia, and Melia to go away to Temecula for a weekend, propose on a sunrise hot air balloon, and enjoy the weekend with wine tasting and good food. Unfortunately, nothing went according to plan. The COVID-19 pandemic caused them to cancel their trip, and Jan had to come up with another plan. Jan ultimately decided to take Kalia for a walk at Schabarum Park (their favorite walking area), surprise her with a bouquet of flowers, hop into the front seat of his car, and pop the question. Lots of ugly crying, a subtle "you motherfucker", and smiles followed before Kalia said "Yes!". They cannot wait to spend the rest of their lives together, and their wedding date will be 10 years and 15 days after their anniversary!
