This travel guide has everything the Saratoga area has to offer! Feel free to browse the website for the best places to dine, relax, and explore. We'll have a few specific experiences below, but this is a good general start if you've never visited upstate NY before.
This is one of our favorite spots in Saratoga and the first place Kaitlyn took Oscar to back in May 2022! They have a large selection of loose and bagged tea, raw honey, and other gifts at their store in downtown Saratoga.
Grab some tea from Saratoga Tea and Honey Company and take a stroll around Congress Park. Our favorite activities include enjoying the fall foliage, drinking from the natural spring (well, Oscar does...), and riding the carousel.
A great spot between the venue and downtown Saratoga for wine tasting, food, and live entertainment! Check out their website for special events happening around our wedding day.
Another great winery and food spot just outside of downtown Saratoga. They offer indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting) and reservations are highly recommended. They also have wine tastings on a first come first serve basis at the tasting room bar.
Sadly, Saratoga Race Course will be closed for the season. But if you're interested in the area's horse racing history, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is a great alternative. Enjoy an afternoon of learning about 300+ years of horse racing through art, film, and interactive exhibits. Plus, The Brook Tavern is a great lunch or dinner spot just a block away!
Spa Park has it all! The Gideon Putnam Hotel is right on property, giving you access to various hiking and walking trails, a golf course, three museums (automobile, dancing, and children's), Hall of Springs, the performing arts center (aka SPAC), and Roosevelt Baths and Spa. It's also down the street from downtown Saratoga, meaning restaurants and shopping aren't far away. Fall is a beautiful time to visit as the leaves change and temperatures drop.
Take a drive up I-87 to Lake George and go shopping for the afternoon. There are lots of stores on both sides of the street and some quick food options in the area.
Yes, we're getting married in October, but we both LOVE ice cream and Martha's had to make our list. Martha's is a famous ice cream stand in the Lake George area, located across the street from Six Flags Great Escape. They also have fast food options, but their ice cream cannot be beat!
