I should have known I was done for as soon as he knew how to pronounce my last name. It took about 48 hours for me to finally figure it out, and we’ve been as inseparable as two adults with full time jobs and multiple side quests can be ever since. It took nearly three decades for us to officially meet after swimming in the same pool as kids and watching him play football his senior year of high school. Multiple moves for both of us and somehow after years of almost run-ins and maybe meets, we both wound up in the Brainerd area and had our first introduction. Since then, I’ve learned a lot about cows, he’s been asked by multiple unsuspecting people how much school it takes to become a firefighter (it’s the mustache), and we’ve gotten to know a lot about each other and our dreams and goals. A warm night on the Duluth pier and I got to say the easiest yes (after a lot of excited nodding and a prompt for a verbal answer) and now we get to celebrate with all of you. I’m so excited for The Day, but most importantly, all of the days that come after. Thanks for being here💛
