We met on the first day of our first jobs after college - as paralegals at a big law firm in New York. Katie was excited to start post-college life in the big city. Ian was recovering from the disappointment of his plans to work in Africa having fallen through (little did he know, it would lead him to the romance of a lifetime). One day they had plans for happy hour with co-workers at Battery Park beer gardens, but the co-workers flaked out. Katie and Ian shyly agreed to meet up for "happy hour" anyway. And the rest, as they say, is history.
