Maid of Honor
As the bride’s younger sister, she has been a constant source of laughter, support, and adventure throughout every stage of life. The two of them are three years apart, and while that gap sometimes felt significant growing up, it never stopped them from forming a strong and lasting bond. Like many sisters, they’ve had their share of arguments over the years, often over the smallest, most unimportant things, but those moments always passed quickly and were followed by just as many moments of closeness and understanding. She has always been one of the first people the bride turns to, whether it’s for big life updates or the small everyday things that don’t seem important but still need to be shared. Their relationship is built on coffee dates where they catch up on life, shopping trips where they give each other honest opinions, and nights spent lying in bed watching shows. Over time, their bond has grown, she isn’t just a sister, but also a built-in best friend and one of the most constant presences in the bride’s life. No matter what changes around them, they always find their way back to each other. Standing beside her on this special day is something she values deeply, as she has had a front-row seat to the bride’s journey and all the moments that have shaped who she is today.
Best Man
Neil and Jared are always a riot together, the kind of duo that can turn just about anything into a joke and fill a room with laughter. Jared is usually on the phone with Neil after work, reliving something ridiculous one of them has seen or done, much to the amusement of Kaili and Emmalyn (Neil’s girlfriend), who like to joke that they’re basically the real soulmates. Whether they’re playing baseball, catching up on life, or planning a night out at The Crazy Horse (or, if you ask them, “Chorse,” “Cou-Cou Cheval,” or simply “The Horse”), they rarely manage to keep things low-key for long. Even the most normal plans tend to turn into something a little more chaotic than intended, usually accompanied by laughter and stories that get retold far too many times. Over the years, their friendship has been built on a steady rotation of sports, inside jokes, and general tomfoolery. Whether it’s baseball, a night out, or just sitting around with friends, they’ve always found a way to make even the smallest moments memorable. Through all of it, Neil has remained one of Jared’s closest friends and most reliable “partner in chaos,” someone who’s been there for the highs, the low-effort plans that turn into long nights, and everything in between. Naming Neil as Best Man was an no brainer, he’s been a constant presence in Jared’s life, and someone who has helped make a lot of the best memories along the way
Bridesmaid
When Maegan and Kaili first met in college, they were convinced the other was a total mean girl, until an assignment paired them up and they quickly realized they just shared the same RBF. From that moment on, they’ve been inseparable. Maegan is the friend who always seems to know when something is wrong and is there without hesitation to talk, laugh, or support Kaili through anything. Even after moving to Yellowknife, she has remained a constant presence through calls, messages, and the occasional funny package in the mail (enjoy the spoon, Maegan). No matter the distance, she has always shown up in all the ways that matter most. Kaili can also call her at any time just to chat, rant, or get advice, and they always pick up right where they left off. Their bond has grown into something steady and deeply meaningful, and having Maegan by Kaili’s side speaks to just how close they are, she is one of her closest and most loyal friends. On top of that, Kaili is also godmother to Maegan’s youngest son, William, a role that has made them permanently family to one another, with a bond that goes far beyond friendship.
Groomsman
Colby and Jared go way back to the baseball field, long before they were teammates, Jared actually umpired some of Colby’s Little League games. Their friendship really took off over the years, especially when they played together with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees baseball team in 2021, where they spent even more time together both on and off the diamond. Since then, not much has changed: they’re still usually found around a baseball field in some capacity, whether it’s planning the next game, talking through the last one, or winding down with a beer at Chuck’s after everything is done. Baseball has always been the constant, but the friendship has grown well beyond just the game itself. They’ve also stayed closely connected through the Kanata Kingfish, the senior team they helped start together with the guys, continuing to build something they both enjoy being a part of year after year. From Little League memories to university ball and everything in between, Colby has been part of a lot of good moments, and Jared is proud to have him standing beside him for the next chapter.
Bridesmaid
Maggie has always been an important part of Kaili’s life, and as they’ve grown up, their bond has only deepened. Whenever Kaili is in Toronto, Maggie is one of the first people she wants to see, time with her is always easy, familiar, and something they both look forward to. To Kaili, Maggie has long felt like another sibling, smart, sweet, caring, and full of potential. Over the years, they've become more than just cousins, a bond built on shared experiences, long conversations, and a steady ability to pick up right where they left off, no matter how much time has passed. Now in university, Maggie is really coming into her own and shaping her own path. She often shares updates with Kaili about school, life, and everything in between, and staying connected has always felt effortless despite the distance. She is easy to talk to, open, and genuinely one of the kindest people, which makes keeping in touch something that has always come naturally. With such a bright future ahead of her, having Maggie stand by Kaili’s side was an effortless and heartfelt choice.
Groomsman
Brad and Jared spent years playing against each other on the ice before finally becoming teammates on the ball diamond with the Kanata Cubs in 2017, where they really got to know one another. Since then, their friendship has grown through countless seasons, games, and time spent together both on and off the field. Some of their best memories come from travelling together for spring training in Florida with the Ottawa Knights, twice making the long bus trip down south. Those trips included everything from long travel days to staying at a “luxurious” (very questionable) Quality Inn in Fort Pierce, Florida, where even sharing a bed became part of the adventure. Although they no longer play on the same baseball team, the friendly rivalry has stuck around especially whenever Jared’s Kanata Kingfish manage to get the better of Brad’s squad. Brad still holds a standing (and permanent) invitation more like an open contract to join the Kingfish at any time, should he ever decide to cross over to the “dark side,” as Jared would call it. The two remain forever throwing partners, whether it’s on the ice, at the ballpark, or anywhere the competition (and chaos) carries them. Known for his easy-going personality and kind heart, Brad has a way of making every team and every group of friends better. Jared is proud to have him standing beside him on the big day.
Bridesmaid
Brooklynn and the bride have been connected since kindergarten, a friendship that has stayed strong even when life took them in different directions. Though they attended different schools and only saw each other a few times a year, their bond never faded. When they reunited in high school, they picked up right where they left off, as if no time had passed. Over the years, they’ve built meaningful traditions that reflect the strength of their friendship, including taking graduation photos together, kindergarten, high school, and college/university. Now, Brooklynn will stand by the bride’s side for another milestone in their lifelong journey. Their friendship has always been rooted in effort, understanding, and intention, even as life has become busier with work, family, and everything in between. Their schedules don’t always align, but they make it work, often planning weeks or months in advance or sending last-minute “are you free?” messages to fit in a quick lunch or coffee. What’s meant to be a quick catch-up often turns into hours of talking without them even noticing.
Groomsman
Evan and Jared met in 2021 while playing for the U22 Kanata Cubs baseball team, but quickly realized their connection went well beyond the diamond. Both having grown up as goalies in hockey, they instantly shared a background that made it easy to connect on and off the ice. They also have a bit of history from baseball, having actually played against each other in the 2016 Senior Little League Canadian National Championship, long before ending up on the same side of things. Since then, their friendship has carried through hockey, summers at the ballpark, and time together with the Kanata Kingfish. Evan has even filled in for “Delaney Plumbing,” Jared’s men’s league team with his cousins, keeping the friendship going every season. Whether it’s at the rink, on the diamond, or just hanging out, Evan has become someone Jared can always count on, and he’s honoured to have him standing beside him on the big day.
Bridesmaid
From the early days of Jared and Kaili’s relationship at 16 and 17, Lacey—then just 14—has been a meaningful and constant part of their lives. Over the years, they have had the joy of watching Lacey grow into a strong, thoughtful, and incredibly intelligent young woman, while also becoming someone whose presence has remained a steady part of both their lives. Lacey and Jared share a bond built on a shared love of sports, especially hockey, and a lifetime of inside jokes that rarely make sense to anyone else but somehow always manage to leave them laughing uncontrollably. Whether it’s memories from the rink, family gatherings, or the countless ridiculous stories from growing up together, there’s never a shortage of moments that only they fully understand. As time has gone on, that sibling relationship has evolved into something more like a genuine friendship, shaped by shared experiences and humour. Lacey has also naturally become an important part of Kaili’s life as well, and it means a lot to both Jared and Kaili that she will be standing on Kaili’s side of the wedding party. Lacey has a bright future ahead, and it means so much to have her standing with them on this special day.
Groomsman
Stu and Jared met in 2021 while playing for the U22 Kanata Cubs, and it didn’t take long for the friendship to extend well beyond the baseball diamond. Since then, the two have shared countless nights out, whether it’s at Crazy Horse, Chuck’s, catching a RedBlacks game, or just a casual drink at a buddy’s house. Stu has also been one of the key people behind getting the Kanata Kingfish off the ground in 2025, playing a big role in the “front office” crew that helps keep everything running smoothly (and occasionally organized). A proud St. FX graduate from the East Coast, Stu brings a bit of that maritime energy wherever he goes—especially when Signal Hill is in town, where he’s always leading the charge on a few well-timed sailor’s tunes with the boys. Through baseball, nights out, and everything in between, Stu has become a constant in Jared’s life, and he’s honoured to have him standing beside him on the big day.
Flower Girl
Eliana, Jared’s goddaughter, is a bright and joyful presence in both Kaili and Jared’s lives. Funny, smart, spunky, and full of personality, she has a wonderful way of lighting up any room she walks into. They love spending time with her on their “date days,” watching her grow into the vibrant young girl she is becoming. Eliana keeps them laughing constantly, and her sense of humour and energy make every moment with her memorable. One of the many special parts of their bond is that she not only knows Jared as her Godfather, she also affectionately calls Kaili her “Fairy Godmother,” a reflection of the close and meaningful relationship they share. Jared and Kaili are incredibly grateful to have Eliana as part of their lives and to include her in this special chapter of their journey.
Honor Attendant
William, Kaili's godson, holds a very special place in her heart. Kaili and William's mom, Maegan, became friends while attending massage therapy school together, when Maegan was pregnant with William's older brother, James. After quickly falling in love with James, Kaili knew she would adore William just as much. Although they live far apart, with William in Yellowknife and Kaili in Ottawa, she has loved getting to know him through FaceTime calls, texts, photos, and updates from Maegan. Kaili was honoured to officially become William's godmother at his baptism and was thrilled to finally meet him in person after months of watching him grow from afar. She looks forward to spending more time with William and creating many special memories together and continuing to be apart of his life and family.
