The Canadian to U.S. dollar exchange rate is very favorable for all the Americans. It's like getting ~ 20% off anything you spend in Toronto.

Where do I go to exchange money?

Answer

Foreign currencies are easily changed into Canadian dollars at currency exchange kiosks at border crossings, large shopping malls, and banks. If you want to have some currency in hand, then it would be best to find a bank or ATM to withdraw the local currency. Most credit cards will work and are widely accepted in Toronto. Credit cards often provide a very competitive exchange rate but some credit cards extra charge for international transactions, so be sure to check with your card provider ahead of time.

What's the best way to get around downtown Toronto?

You can walk, take the subway/streetcar/bus, taxi or take Uber to get around Toronto. Taxis and Ubers are easy to hail in the downtown area. Parking downtown especially on weekends during the summer will be fairly expensive, so avoid it if you can.
