After our wedding was postponed in 2020, we were beyond thankful for all of your support as we tried to navigate such an unprecedented time and a closed border situation. You know you love someone, when you can't experience anything without wishing the other person was there to see it too. When you know, you just simply know. Our story is quite simple actually. Who knew an awkward hello at the Chicago Taaruf (which is more or less a gathering event within our community) would spark a lifetime of love! In the Fall of 2015, our paths crossed in Chicago, where it didn't take long for us to hit it off. That’s where our love story began. Juzer was captivated with Nakiya’s chattiness and Nakiya was charmed by Juzer’s Canadian kindness and big heart. It wasn't long before their late-night calls became monthly trips cross border for date nights in Toronto and Philly. Early on, they realized two things: Juzer is very punctual and Nakiya is always very late…. opposites attract, right? One summer afternoon Nakiya thought she was going to a food festival but little did she know, Juzer had been planning a surprise for months. As usual she was 2 hours late for what she thought was a festival, but it ended up being her own proposal. On June 8th, 2019 Juzer proposed to Nakiya under a lakeside gazebo decorated with her favourite things and souvenirs from their trips together. Juzer reminisced about their relationship and asked her to be his wifey for life. And here we are today, six years later, celebrating how an awkward hello has evolved into a lifetime of love. With all that said, it’s finally time for us to tie the knot. We recognize you as having an impact on our lives. You have helped shape us in one way or another. You have touched our lives with positivity, guidance, friendship and love. We appreciate you. So we suppose a celebration is in order for all of us! We can't wait to share our special day together.
