Arrival Dinner

Friday evening marks the informal start of the weekend, as many of our guests will be arriving throughout the day. We’ve arranged an optional group dinner at La Bogue in Redon for anyone who would like to join us for a relaxed evening together. For those staying at the château, we’ll organize informal carpooling to the restaurant. While this dinner isn’t part of the official wedding events, we’ve reserved space for everyone, and guests are welcome to dine à la carte at their own discretion.

We'll kick off Saturday with a relaxed cookout by the château's pool! We'll be grilling up burgers and sausages, complete with a variety of toppings, and serving up refreshing drinks. It's the perfect time to unwind, soak in the scenery, and enjoy good company before the afternoon festivities begin.
Door Games (闹门）

In Chinese weddings, the groom doesn’t just show up and collect the bride—it’s way more fun than that! The bridesmaids set up a series of door games to test the groom’s dedication, wit, and comedic talents. It’s all about proving he’s worthy while bringing in plenty of laughs along the way. These games can range from solving puzzles to silly dares, with the groomsmen often dragged into the chaos for backup.

The Tea Ceremony is a cherished Chinese tradition. During this ritual, Justin and I will offer tea to our parents and elders as a gesture of respect and appreciation for their love and guidance. In return, they will bless us with words of wisdom and good fortune, symbolizing their support as we begin out life together. It's a moment that reflects the heart of Chinese weddings - honoring family, love, and tradition - and we are excited to share it with you.
Hair Combing Ceremony (三梳礼)

The hair combing ceremony, or 三梳礼, is a Chinese wedding tradition symbolizing blessings for the couple’s new life together. Performed the night before the wedding, it involves an elder gently combing the bride and groom’s hair while reciting four blessings: 一梳梳到尾 – “With the first comb, may your love flow unbroken, lasting a lifetime.” 二梳白发齐眉 – “With the second comb, may you grow old together, in peace and perfect harmony.” 三梳子孙满堂 – “With the third comb, may your home be filled with children and laughter.” 四梳百年好合 – “With the fourth comb, may your union endure for a hundred year, as timeless as your love.” This elegant and intimate ritual honors family, tradition, and the blessings of a shared future.
