Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Juliette Lefebvre and Kevin Loeffler
We're so excited for you to check out some of our stomping grounds. Unfortunately, my favorite bar is permanently closed. However, there are many other cool bars, rooftops & restaurants to check out! Quick Tips! Guanajuato is a very walkable city, but the streets can be steep and narrow. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Even though it's a desert region, temperatures can vary. Bring a sunscreen for the daytime, and a light jacket in case it rains. While many people in Guanajuato speak some English, knowing a little Spanish can go a long way. Basic phrases like "¿Dónde está...?" (Where is...) or "¿Cuánto cuesta?" (How much does it cost?) can help!
El Jardin de la Union (Union Garden)

El Jardin de la Union (Union Garden)

This central garden is the heart of the city, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and theaters. It's a great place to relax, people-watch, or catch a local musical performance. The Teatro Juárez, one of the city’s most important landmarks, is right next to it. FUN FACT: My dad proposed to my mom here.

Callejón del Beso (Alley of the Kiss)

Callejón del Beso (Alley of the Kiss)

The story goes that two lovers from different social classes were forbidden to see each other. They would sneak kisses across the tiny gap in the alley. It's a place of love and legend, and it’s famous for its narrowness. It’s a romantic spot, so if you’re with a partner, it's a must-visit! Even alone, it’s beautiful and full of local folklore. You can get a photo at the spot where the balconies are closest to each other. Here's a pic of Kevin and I when we went in 2022!

Funicular Panoramico (Funicular Tour)

Funicular Panoramico (Funicular Tour)

The funiculars are cable cars pulled up and down a steep railway. this fun and easy way to get a panoramic view of Guanajuato's stunning architecture and colorful hillsides. The route takes you up to Pipila, the statue on the hilltop, where you can get an amazing view of the entire city. As well as check out the small outdoor shops. Its possible to walk uphill as well, if you’re down for some exercise! There is no single street address but you can find where to purchase your tickets located right behind the historic Teatro Juárez, next to the entrance of the Minero Tunnel, in the heart of the city.

Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato

Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato

Explanada del Panteón Municipal s/n, Centro, Guanajuato, Gto. 36000, Mexico

This museum is world-famous for its collection of naturally mummified bodies, many of which were unearthed from local cemeteries. The mummies are preserved due to the region’s dry, mineral-rich soil, and it's both eerie and fascinating.
