Newport's enchanting 3.5-mile Cliff Walk is the perfect place for your moment of peace. Panoramic ocean views, crashing waves and the perfect amount of sea breeze on one side and stunning, century-old, Gilded Age mansions on the other. The walk is free and open to the public, and you can do stretches of it if 3.5 miles feels like too much.
Check out the beautiful Gilded Age mansions: The Breakers, Marble House, The Elms, Rosecliff, Chateau-sur-Mer. Note that some of these might be closed for the Audrain Concours Motor Show.
Obsessed with the US Open? This is a great way to spend a few hours.
Our favorite coffee shop just passed downtown on the way to Oceancliff.
10/10 recommend for breakfast
If you're an oyster person, the oysters in Newport are the best! We make it a point to get a few local oysters and a bowl of clam chowder every time we come. This is the place to do it.
This place has everything from burgers to bouillabaisse and is right on the water, so it's hard to go wrong.
Basically across the street from the Downtown Marriott.
We tried to book a wedding after party here and they sadly don't do big events, but that doesn't mean you can't stop by another night. They have live music, pool tables, and just general good vibes.
