Dogs are allowed outdoors at Preston Ranch, they may not go indoors. This is what our contract says about dogs: "Dogs must always be kept under control. In this part of the country, dogs that chase wildlife or livestock can be shot, so be incredibly careful with your pooches." If you bring your dog, please bring a leash or a long lead just in case it is needed, bring bags and be sure to pick up after your dog (especially in the areas where the festivities are taking place). We are asking not to have any dogs join us on the day of the ceremony, but they are welcome to join us at the welcome bbq and the recovery brunch.
They provide a recycle station for sorting trash, with free removal of aluminum, compost, and paper waste as long as it is sorted properly. To incentivize recycling, they only collect general waste once every two days, and will charge us for extra general waste collection. Please be sure to recycle and compost! And please do not dispose of any food debris around the grounds, we do not want to attract any unwanted guests (skunks, rodents, coyotes, etc.).
Smoking is prohibited indoors and near front door entrances and windows; it is only allowed outdoors away from buildings. Please be mindful of second-hand smoke and those around you - they may be too polite to say they don't like the smell of your cigarette. Ashtrays may be provided if needed. Our contract with them states: "Absolutely no cigarette butts should be discarded on the grounds. This is a terrible fire danger and disrespectful to the land and landowners." If we violate our contract, we can lose part of our deposit.
We have the venue all weekend, so there's no hard stop to the fun until we check out on Monday. However, we do need to turn the music down by 10pm, as noise can carry quite far in Bedford and we'd like to be respectful of the neighbors. Some of our family are also staying on the property with us in the cabins, and they might want to go to bed earlier than everyone else.
