Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park

Estes Park, CO
, 877-444-6777

Buy a pass now! Rocky Mountain National Park is about 2 hours away from Beaver Meadows. From 9 am to 2 pm, permits are required to enter the NP. From 5 am to 6 pm, reservations are required to get on Bear Lake Road. You can find all the necessary information at www.NPS.gov, and make permit reservations at Recreation.gov. For September permits, they will be available from 8am MDT on August 1, 2025. If you're unable to secure a permit in advance, a limited number will be released at 7 pm the night before on Recreation.gov on a first come, first served basis. In the worst-case scenario you can drive into the park after 2 pm, or into Bear Lake Rd after 7pm at dusk. This might be a good option as animals tend to be more active in the cooler evening hours and there will be much less traffic and people.
