Manayunk is one of the most successful destinations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The community is known for its shopping, dining, and scenic views along the Schuylkill River. Manayunk was once its own borough before the city of Philadelphia swallowed up all of Philadelphia County in 1854. In fact, the main route through Manayunk is named Main Street, a holdover from its days as an independent borough, making it the only Main Street in the city of Philadelphia.
