South End is Charlotte's young, hip and vibrant neighborhood with several shopping areas, restaurants, and, of course, breweries (Charlotte is a bit brewery crazed). Here are our South End recommendations: Breweries: - Wooden Robot (our favorite) - Monday Night Brewing (an Atlanta-based brewery, but they have great pizza, so it's okay) - Sycamore Brewing (Charlotte's most successful brewery, try the Mountain Candy IPA) - Suffolk Punch Brewing (further down the rail trail) Restaurants - Dilworth Tasting Room - Emmy Squared Pizza - Salted Melon - Trolley Barn Shopping - Atherton Mill (Anthropologie, Lululemon, Free People) - Camden Road (Girl Tribe, Charlotte Collective, 704 Shop)
There are a number of attractions in Uptown. Check out the Mint Museum, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and more!
20 minutes outside of Charlotte is the U.S. National Whitewater Center is an outdoorsman amusement park. You can hike, ride a zip line, kayak on the Catawba river, and go white water rafting. There is a nice restaurant and many bar stations. If you are in town early, we highly recommend checking it out.
