Carlsbad Village
Since moving to Escondido, Carlsbad Village has quickly become one of our favorite places to visit. This charming coastal neighborhood is full of local boutiques, cozy cafés, great restaurants, and laid-back beach town vibes. Just a short walk from Carlsbad State Beach, it's the perfect place to spend an afternoon strolling, grabbing a coffee or a bite to eat, and enjoying the ocean. Whether you're looking to relax by the water or explore a quintessential Southern California beach town, Carlsbad Village is well worth a visit.
Camino Del Mar
Downtown Del Mar holds a special place in our hearts. It's where we spent many afternoons and evenings together when we first started dating, and it's also where Payam completed his residency after finishing naturopathic medical school. This charming coastal town is home to boutique shops, wonderful restaurants, and breathtaking ocean views, all just steps from Del Mar Beach. Whether you're taking a stroll along the coastline, enjoying a sunset dinner, or simply soaking in the relaxed atmosphere, it's one of our favorite places to experience the beauty of San Diego.
Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
If you enjoy being outdoors, Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is one of our favorite places to hike. With scenic coastal trails, dramatic sandstone cliffs, and breathtaking views overlooking the Pacific Ocean, it's the perfect place to experience Southern California's natural beauty. We've spent many mornings and afternoons exploring these trails together, and it's always one of our favorite ways to unplug, get outside, and enjoy the incredible beach views. Whether you're looking for a leisurely walk or a more adventurous hike, Torrey Pines is a must-visit during your stay.
Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve
Just a short drive from our home in Escondido, Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve has become one of our favorite places to hike and unwind. With miles of scenic trails, rolling hills, peaceful oak groves, and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and reservoir, it's the perfect escape into nature. Whether you're looking for a leisurely walk or a more challenging hike, Elfin Forest offers a quieter, less crowded experience and is a wonderful place to enjoy the natural beauty of North County San Diego.
The Lion's Share
The Lion's Share was one of our favorite spots to visit when we first started dating and remains a place we love coming back to. Tucked away near the waterfront in downtown San Diego, this cozy restaurant and bar is known for its creative cocktails, intimate atmosphere, and adventurous, seasonal menu. Whether you're stopping in for a craft cocktail, happy hour, or dinner, it's a unique local favorite that holds a special place in our story.

Animae is one of our favorite places to celebrate special occasions and enjoy a memorable night out together. Located in downtown San Diego, this modern Asian fusion restaurant offers a beautifully designed space, creative cocktails, and an exceptional menu that makes every visit feel like an experience. If you're looking for an upscale dinner during your stay, we highly recommend making a reservation—it's one of our favorite spots for great food, great drinks, and a fun date night.
