Todos Santos is a charming town just north of Rancho Pescadero. It's a great place for shopping and dining. It's only 20 minutes North of Rancho on Highway 19. Recommendations: - Drinks at the La Copa Bar at The Todos Santos Inn - Dinner on the patio at Cafe Santa Fe (Italian) - Fish Tacos at the stand when you first enter town (on the left when you turn right off of the exit to Todos Santos)
Playa Los Cerritos is a great swimming, surfing, and boogie boarding beach with a much shallower and softer break than the beach at Rancho Pescadero. Cerritos is a 10-minute drive from Rancho (mainly dirt road). Grab some beach gear from Rancho before you go, or ask the front desk to arrange surfing lessons!
Help baby sea turtles make their way to the ocean! Almost daily releases at around 5pm. Main hatchery: Tortugueros Las Playitas. This is about a 30 minute drive from RP. There is also a small hatchery with releases about 200 yards up the beach from Rancho.
La Paz is the capital of Baja California Sur and it’s known for its seafront Malecón promenade with beaches, parks and art by Mexican and international artists. We haven't been, but have heard great things. There is a boardwalk area with great restaurants and shops. It's also a great location for scuba diving, snorkeling, and fishing. The town is about an hour and fifteen minutes away from RP.
