We chose a Thursday because we wanted our favorite people to have the best of both worlds! By celebrating midweek, you’ll have the rest of the weekend to explore the beauty of Colorado at your own pace. We know many of you are traveling a long way to be with us, and we want you to be able to enjoy a true mountain getaway—whether that means hiking, visiting the hot springs, or just relaxing.
The ranch is located at 3673 Chicago Creek Rd, Idaho Springs, CO. It’s tucked into the Chicago Creek Canyon, about 5 minutes south of downtown Idaho Springs and roughly 60 minutes west of Denver.
The town sits at 7,526 feet, and the ranch is slightly higher. If you are coming from sea level, please prioritize hydration! We recommend drinking twice as much water as usual and being mindful that alcohol can affect you much faster at this elevation.
We recommend flying into Denver by Wednesday or Thursday morning. This gives you plenty of time to settle in, adjust to the altitude, and explore the mountains before the festivities begin!
Pets are not permitted on the property. Per venue policy, only specifically trained assistance animals are allowed, provided they are identified and documented with the venue 30 days in advance. Emotional support animals are unfortunately not permitted.
Cell service is very limited once you enter the canyon. We recommend downloading offline maps and screenshotting your directions before you head to the ranch!
Colorado weather is famously unpredictable. June is usually beautiful, but afternoon sun-showers are common. The ceremony is outdoors, but the reception is under a large, heated sailcloth tent, so we’ll be celebrate rain or shine! Even if it's 80 degrees, the canyon stays cool. Expect a 15-20 degree drop once the sun dips behind the mountains, so keep that jacket handy!
We would love for you to arrive 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. This will give you plenty of time to park, enjoy a quick refreshment, and find a seat by the creek before we begin at 4pm.
The ranch has a large private parking lot on-site. When you arrive, you’ll see the covered wagon with the venue’s name! After parking, it’s a short, beautiful walk across the bridge to the pavilion and ceremony area.
Since Blackstone Rivers Ranch holds its own liquor license, no outside alcohol is permitted on the property (including in the parking lot or getting-ready suites). Don't worry, though—the drinks are on us once the bar opens!
Due to the high fire risk in the canyon, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside any buildings or near the trees. There is a designated smoking area near the parking lot for those who need it.
Yes! The ranch facilities, including the restrooms and the pavilion, are fully accessible. If you need assistance getting to the creekside ceremony site, please let us know so we can make arrangements.
Yes! We will have a selection of beer, wine, and spirits available. Please remember to bring a valid ID, as the bartenders will be checking everyone regardless of age.
