Matron of Honor
Sherry and Jess met through mutual friends post-college. When Sherry moved to Chicago in 2014 they grew very close, adding even more epic stories to their list, starting the FEAST tradition, and playing games late into the night. They also got to witness each other finding their people (Scott and Rob) - growing their bond to 3 and then to 4. There are few people that can make Jess cry-laugh and Sherry is one of the best!
Best Man
Mike and Rob met for the first time on March 26, 1983. Rumor has it Rob cried a lot on that day. They have always been brothers, but adulthood has brought them closer as friends.
Flower Girls
Luci and Antonia are Rob's nieces. Jessica is excited to officially become their aunt. You can often find the four of them giggling away in the corner at family gatherings; playing Villainous, Oh Shoot, or Bags; planning the next sleepover; or showcasing their new talents to one another.
Ring Bearer
Alden is Jessica's nephew - son of Jesse and Tiffany. Rob and Jess are excited to entrust Alden with their rings, but know that they'll need to feed him lots of protein to keep him running throughout the day ;)
Bridesmaid
Elisha and Jess met in Junior High School. They became thick as thieves, especially in high school English class when coordinating group projects and staying up 'til the wee hours giggling and trying to complete them on time. Through college and post, they grew even closer - ripping up the dance floor in nightclubs, ordering the elusive Black Opal, heading to Canada for a random weekend, and growing as cooks together. Elisha is one of the few people Jess makes sure to visit when she visits her family in Seattle.
Bridesmaid
Elana and Jess met during their year of service post college (Elana as a Jesuit Volunteer and Jess as an AmeriCorps Vista). Over the next decade+ they grew together during their formative Social Justice years - organizing picket lines, passing out flyers, door knocking, and even getting arrested during an act of social disobedience. Elana introduced Jess to Swing Dancing, which helped her find her initial community when she moved to Chicago. While there's distance between their cities, there are few people who know Jess' heart like Elana.
Bridesmaid
Trish and Jess met studying abroad in Vienna, Austria. They traveled all over together - Spain, Bratislava, and even Vietnam. While traveling, they'd often negotiate in fake Austrian/English accents and walk away with a steal! From chocolate churro stomach aches to an Austrian hospital visit to regular visits in Portland, Seattle, Chicago, and NYC, Trish has always been by Jess' side laughing through life's adventures together.
Bridesmaid
Megan and Jess met at Groupon while slinging Groupon "toours." They fooled all the youngster salespeople into thinking they were their age (right out of college), while actually in their 30s! Whether they are scrounging for some straggler beers, catching some comedy, jumping in Lake Michigan after a hot Chicago summer day, just sipping on G&Ts, or camping, these two are always laughing and having a great time together.
Bridesmaid
Liz and Jess met playing singles softball. Liz is the reason Jess ended up signing up for the league that landed her on the team with Rob. One of Jess' closest Chicago confidants, Liz makes every night better. Whether it be shooting marshmallows with sling shots, being a Stoop Kid, squeezing squawking chickens in song, indulging Jess in her firework obsession, hitting up Trivia nights, or playing strategy games, Liz makes every night better!
Officiant
Amanda and Jess met working at Women Employed. Whether they are laughing, crying, or both at the same time, they have a blast. Amanda and her husband Nate melded easily into Jess and Rob's friend group, becoming an integral part of FEAST, camping trips, and any other mayhem. However, when Jess and Amanda became Euchre partners, they took their badassery to a new level. Fueled by Euchre juice and donned with their green Lagunitas trucker hats, they were the queens of the League!
Groomsman
Chris and Rob met in high school biology class. They would often get in trouble for talking or their boisterous laughs. In college every Friday was someone’s birthday so Chris and Rob would often enjoy a wristband deal. Through the years they have had many adventures together, but arguably the best was when Chris asked Rob to stand up in his wedding. On May 28th Rob will try to repay the honor.
Groomsman
Pat and Rob met many years ago - scholars still struggle to find an exact date. They met playing softball, but their bond really blossomed playing bags on Monday nights at Rivals sports bar. Pat was the best player not named Beckman. They turned in their cleats and bats for bowling shoes and are now on the same bowling team. Pat has always been by Rob's side in a pair of black jeans and a T-shirt.
Groomsman
George and Rob met through work at Wright College. However, their bond as friends grew, when over one months time, they ran into each other all across Chicago. Their friendship grew through their mutual interests of trivia and drinking.
Groomsman
Trevor and Rob met at Wright College while filming a video for new students. They immediately bonded over ways to game the system and constantly shift the odds into their favor. They continuously regale one another with their newest angle or treasure hunt. Right now they can be heard having conversations of what they would do when they win the Powerball Jackpot.
Groomsman
Leo and Rob met playing sports through S3. Leo was also present the day Rob met Jessica. Over the years they have become closer through their love of games, movies, and good ol' fashioned competition.
