Mr & Mrs

We met when our families started attending the same church back in 4th grade. We both grew up very involved in the church and soon formed a close friendship. We stayed friends throughout high school for fear of ruining the bond we had by starting a romantic relationship. Soon the time came for college and I moved 1,000 miles away for school in Florida. Ironically this move made us closer and we started ~finally~ pursuing a relationship. By the end of our freshman year we decided to start dating. This meant we were now in a long distance relationship - something I never dreamed I would have to deal with. After about 2 years, hundreds of facetime calls, many letters in the mail and endless “I miss you’s”... We ended up together at the same school. Learning how to do life together in the same state has been one of the most fun experiences so far, and we cannot wait for our future together.

As mentioned in our story, we met at the church we both attended. So it was fitting that he proposed at that very place, which has always held such a special spot in our hearts. Brian asked me on a date for a picnic at the prayer garden at the church. He told me to dress nice and do my hair (suspicious) but I obliged and we went. He had a whole picnic basket full of my favorite food and a vase full of flowers. Soon he mentioned that there was a suprise dessert in the basket but I was told not to peek. When he decided it was time for dessert he had me stand up and turn around. When I eventually turned back to him, he was on one knee with a ring. He proposed, after telling me how much he loves me. Of course I said yes, and then turned to see both of our families come out of hiding. We got to celebrate the moment with the people we love most, and it was truly the best day of our lives so far!
