How did we meet? In line at a restaurant! Or "on line" as many of you east coasters say. Pesto in Mission Valley mall, to be exact. It was the same weekend as BIG Salsa Festival San Diego. Typically, salsa festivals are held at a hotel for a weekend, and attendees often go off-site to grab a bite to eat. By this point, Josh had already been dancing salsa for 15 years and Kirsten had only been dancing for 3 months. Josh was waiting in line with his brother, Scott, and brother from another mother, Oscar, while Kirsten was with her group of dance friends. One of Kirsten's friends left the group to go up to Josh because he recognized Josh's dance studio gear. Kirsten saw her friend left the group and went to meet Josh shortly after. That weekend, Josh sought Kirsten out at the salsa festival (amongst thousands of people) and they shared their first dance. They exchanged info, went on their first date a week later, and they've been inseparable since. Their friends joke that they're still on their first date even to this day! Since then, Josh & Kirsten have been creating precious memories, traveling, & dancing together across the globe. 2.5 years later since meeting & having their first dance, they are now ready to have their first dance as husband & wife.
