Josh and Kat began as co-workers at a small alternative school in Connecticut. Kat was a teacher, and Josh an administrator and the school’s social worker. Initially, Kat was actually convinced that Josh did not like her at all, and the two barely spoke during their first several months of working together. The mysterious powers of the universe eventually brought these two together through common personal struggles that they experienced at the same time; specifically break-ups in their previous long-term relationships. Josh and Kat began seeking each-other out for guidance and support through the challenges that followed. As a result, a friendship was born. Josh and Kat slowly began socializing outside of the workplace thanks to Josh’s tenacious and persistant efforts to invite Kat to his neighborhood and local hangouts. On one particular late and drunken evening, Josh was in desperate need of a ride home. Kat was sober and more than willing to help out a friend. They climbed into Kat's red Hyundai and were about to take off when Kat's music came blaring through the stereo. She immediately apologized as if she was embarrassed. Josh quickly turned the music back on and began rapping every word of the Lil’ Wayne track that was on. Kat and Josh spent the next two hours parked in the public lot sharing and rapping their favorite songs together. From friends to best friends in a blink of an eye. After that night, Josh and Kat began spending more and more time together. They texted constantly, called each other whenever in need, planned new adventures together, and were both always willing to drop everything for the other with a special code phrase.
