Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) is home to nine major rental car companies, offering guests a range of convenient options. The roads are well-maintained, and November presents mild weather conditions. As you approach Oak Mountain State Park, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the autumn foliage. We recommend downloading an offline map before your trip, as cell service can be spotty as you approach the park, with AT&T and T-Mobile generally offering the best coverage.

Oak Mountain Cabins

The Oak Mountain Cabins are nestled around the scenic Lake Tranquility, surrounded by the foothills of Double Oak Mountain. Perfect for guests who want to enjoy the outdoors and wedding festivities, these cabins are just steps way from both. Each cabin features two bedrooms—one with a King bed and the other with two Queen beds—accommodating a maximum of six guests. You’ll find a bath, fully equipped kitchen, central heating and air conditioning, front porch, and backyard grill with a picnic table. If you are interested in staying in one of these cabins, they are available for a minimum of two nights on Nov. 7th-9th, 2025. For those who wish to find accommodations elsewhere, there are numerous hotels and Airbnbs available outside the park and in the town of Birmingham. Please note that if you choose to stay outside of Oak Mountain State Park, a day pass is required for park access. The pass costs $5 per day and can be purchased at the Park Admissions gate. Active military personnel, retired military, and veterans can enter the park for free.
