Oak Mountain State Park
Oak Mountain State Park is Alabama's largest park and has been a special place for us to celebrate and unwind. With over 50 miles of trails, some of our favorite hikes are King’s Chair Overlook and Peavine Falls, both offering breathtaking views. The park also has several lakes, perfect for fishing and water sports, with rental gear available. Other activities include an 18-hole golf course, a wildlife center, guided horseback riding trails, and zip-lining at the Adventure Park.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Birmingham Botanical Gardens is one of our favorite spots to enjoy a sunset walk. We love exploring paths through the tranquil Japanese Garden and vibrant Dunn Formal Rose Garden. It is free and open to the public every day of the week.
The Market at Pepper Place
For a taste of the South, the Market at Pepper Place showcases local vendors selling fresh produce, artisanal goods, and delicious food. This is a great spot if you are looking to explore downtown Birmingham.
