Question
Are kids welcome?
Answer
At this time we are unable to accommodate children due to budget constraints. Additionally, there is an open pool with no fencing or barrier where the ceremony and reception will be, and we did not want to risk any accidents, or have people worrying about safety while trying to enjoy themselves. Additionally, bars do not allow children so they won’t be able to tag along to places once the Second Line is done.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
Yes! Black attire for the ceremony. Some patterns, embellishments, white shirts are fine so long as the primary color is black. For the reception, ceremony outfits or costumes are fine. Costumes can by anything and everything except for bridal or Morticia and Gomez Addams. Costume DO NOT have to be black. You may change into costumes during the cocktail hour following speeches, and you may bring a change of clothes with you to the venue. We will provide a space for people to store their belongings if needed.

What will the weather be like?
Answer
Unfortunately, it’s La Niña season so it will be hotter than it usually is in October. Plan for humid and 80 degree days during late morning and early afternoon; humidity dissipates in the morning and later afternoon, so it will be lovely in time for the wedding. If your hotel has a pool, bring a swim suit!!

We do and it is now live! While we have some stuff listed, we would greatly appreciate donations to our honeymoon fund instead. Also, don’t be pressured to purchase - we will get discounts for anything left on our list 😉

What is a Second Line?
Answer
A second line is a New Orleans wedding tradition that started as a way to celebrate life instead of mourning during funerals. For weddings, the bride and groom follow a brass band with personalized parasols, known as the first line. The second line consists of the wedding guests following the bride and groom, waving handkerchiefs, drinking drinks, and announcing to the town that we’re married!

When do I need to rsvp by?
Answer
You can start RSVPing as soon as you receive our Save the Date! The hard deadline for RSVP's is August 1, 2025. After that, we will not be able to accommodate any late responses, as we need to provide accurate headcounts to the venue and caterers by this time.
