Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We'd prefer the favor of your reply by August 21st but if you need an extension into September 1st. Please let us know!

Question

Is there a gifts registry?

Answer

You can check out our Zola registry by clicking on "Our Registry" at the top of this page. There are also links to other retailers available as well (e.g. Amazon, West Elm, Etc) listed at the top of the registry page above the Zola items.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm sharp. Please allow time for commuting and arrive early.

Question

Do you have a hotel room block? Where is the venue located?

Answer

We do not, but there are plenty of options to explore through platforms like Airbnb. The venue is located at 1545 W Rosemont Ave, Chicago, IL 60660, which is in the Edgewater neighborhood. You can also consider staying in close neighborhoods such as Rogers Park, Lincoln Square, Andersonville, and Uptown. If it's your first time in Chicago and want to experience a downtown stay, you can ride the Red line north (towards Howard) to the Granville stop and walk 10 minutes to Firehouse Chicago.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Depends. We usually recommend against it if you're staying in the neighborhoods mentioned above or if you're staying within a 5-minute walking distance from an L station (elevated rail/subway). Public transit is reliable (for the most part) and cheap, fares are $2.50 one-way via the L and $2.25 via public bus. Uber, Lyft and Via options are also readily available, usually within 1-2 minutes of hailing a ride via the apps. If you are renting a car and driving to the venue, there is plenty of parking at the nearby Hayt Elementary School parking lot at 1518 W Granville Ave, which is just a 2-4 minute walk away from Firehouse Chicago.

Question

What should/could I do between the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are at the same venue! After the ceremony ends, there will be a cocktail hour followed by the reception!

Question

Will food be served?

Answer

Yes! Our caterer is Big Delicious Planet, a sustainable, women-owned business, with many of their ingredients coming directly from their urban farm in Chicago, IL. They will also be the providers of our servers and bartenders.

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

The food will be passed Hors d'oeuvres as appetizers and food stations for the main entrees. The format is non-assigned seating. We'd like to keep our menu secret until the big day but we have accommodated those with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dietary restrictions. If you have any serious allergies that we should be aware of, please let us know at cannonan19@gmail.com by September 5th.

Question

What time will the reception end?

Answer

After the cocktail hour, the reception to follow is estimated to start at 7pm through 11pm.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

Sure, take as many as you want before and after the ceremony! However, we do encourage you to observe a "in-the-moment matrimony" during our ceremony. Please refrain as much as you can from taking videos and pictures during the ceremony. A professional photographer will be there during the ceremony so don't have to experience our wedding through a viewfinder!

Question

Will last names be changing after the wedding?

Answer

We don't know yet! If we hyphenated, it would be quite the tongue twister. But one thing is for sure: the number of Ns in our name won't change! :)
